MyClubDiary.com is an online/mobile messaging network allowing members to keep in contact with clubs/groups they or their children are involved in from a point of view of events and status messages.

For clarity,

A “Manager” means a Club Owner/ Team Leader  / Team Manager basically anyone that needs to communicate with a group of people.

A “Member” means any individual that needs to receive and reply communications from/to a Manager

A “Club” is a collection of a manager and a group of members

The idea came to me as a parent of 4 children who attend many activities

including Running, Gaa Football, Soccer, Hip Hop dancing, Swimming and Tennis.

I found it difficult to keep track of all the different match fixtures, training schedules, competitions dates and locations/directions.

I would receive information relating to the club events from many sources ie, txt messages, club web sites and word of mouth. This is all fine when you are only dealing

with one or two clubs but when you are dealing with five or six clubs then it can be difficult to keep track and collate this information for organising the family social activities.

I also found out from talking to managers of clubs, that they also have great difficulty in keeping track of events form a point of view of who can attend the event / fixture/ competition / meeting etc..

Currently a lot of managers send out many txt messages and wait for the parent to reply.

This becomes extremely time consuming and costly (sms txt costs) especially if you are the manager for more that one club.

Keeping all these issues in my mind I  creating the website  “myclubdiary.com”

MyClubDiary.com  lets me (as a member) view all my children’s clubs and even my own club interest events and messages on one web/mobile page.

Now I know what’s on the families agenda for the next few days…. Great!

1)  Managers create clubs

2)  Members follow clubs

3)  Managers posts events (including Google map direction tiny URLs) and messages for each club they manage

4)  Members views messages and events in one place for all the clubs they follow on the sites  “myTimeline” page.

5)  Managers can ask for confirmation replies to events

6)  Members can reply with a "YES" or a "NO" type response, therefore making it easier for the manager to collate the replies without having to read much text.

7)  Managers can see all the responses in one place either for all their clubs they manager or split separately per club them manage

8)  Members can see the responses to events from all the clubs they follow.

1)   Managers can post an event once as opposed to sending a txt message to each individual club member

2)   Managers can also group email members via the Sites Email Tab  (great for sending out Club Application Forms etc)

3)   Managers do not incur a cost in posting messages or events on the site  (Currently lots of managers are getting charged for sending txt messages out on their own phones)

4)   Managers don’t have their phone “hijacked” with lots of member replies for all the clubs they manage.

5)   Managers can post Google Map links with the event locations ( Currently managers print copies of the directions for members who then have to meet up to collect them).

6)   Managers don’t have to worry about missing someone out in relation to them receiving messages and events

7)   Managers can direct their members to the site for their messages to cut down on misleading information from different sources (ie word of mouth)

8)   Managers can also follow clubs they are a member of.

9)   The site is currently FREE to use.

10) Members can (on their timeline page) see all the events and messages from ALL the clubs they "FOLLOW". ( This really helps in organisation the families social activities)

11) Members can see all the upcoming events for all the clubs they follow in Chronology Order. (Again, great for organisation)

12 )Members do not incur a cost in Replying to Events  (Currently members are getting charged for sending txt messages out on their own phones)

I have the website developed and the process is fully functional via the website. Currently, some members of a large Gaa Club are performing a pilot so that they can setup their clubs and communicate with their members.

I am currently developing the Android Mobile app to make the site even more accessible.

I have used the “Fingal Playing Pitch Dataset”  (datasets/kml/Playing_Pitches.kml ) to allow Managers / Members search for a particular pitch in the Fingal area and wish to expand this to show other relevant datasets as and when their become available.

Functionality of “Fingal Playing Pitch Dataset” Map

Traffic Mode:     Driving, Walking and Cycling.

Also “Real Time Traffic” and “Bicycling Path” can be displayed

Direction and Reverse Directions can be displayed

In Summary, I hope you like my idea and see that it is well under way in becoming a reality. I entered it under the “Ideas” category because I don’t have the

mobile app completed yet.

LocalMascot is a Live Match Programme App, both mobile and web based, for local sports being played in the Fingal area. These sports include but are not limited to soccer, GAA, and rugby. The Fingal data that the proposed App would use is that which provides the location of playing pitches in Fingal along with the type of sports being played and pitch name.

Idea: TaxiAngel is the world’s first taxi related app of its kind serving the following 3 purposes: Using data made available by Fingal County Council TaxiAngel provides the user of the locations of all taxi ranks in the Fingal County Council area. Based on the relevant dataset supplied by Fingal County Council all taxis using the Fingal taxi ranks will be supplied with smartphone barcodes for the TaxiAngel scan system. TaxiAngel provides security for passengers as when they sit into the taxi the TaxiAngel app allows them to scan the barcode and store the taxi number, location and time in the TaxiAngel database. This facility also easily enables the passenger to retrieve property left or lost in taxis. Although there are taxi apps in existence none of them solve or even target these 3 major issues. Existing taxi apps facilitate the booking and/or payment of a taxi, but one major flaw in most of them is that they rely on the taxi drivers having the app also.

"Amazing Women"in the fingal area ,is an APP specifically targeted at women who want to develop their creativity back into their life . The APP will be used by women at home or working who may have lost the get up and go threw constant struggle with all work and no play.As we all know women are perhaps the most passionate Human Beings with all seven senses who love reading Romantic Novels , Romantic movies ,Dancing, writing, Art,Drama, cooking, knitting Gardening with the financial burdens as we have moved away from enjoying what we are good at . However the APP’s main purpose is to put you on the right track in your local area to learn new skills and develop your creativity further . WHat can I learn, where can I learn to dance , who can teach me. What knitting classes are on in the area, although we see them on the notice board , we are constantly missing the start dates . Just think of all the learning we can do , what other areas can I develop in . Sometimes as a working mum both at home and outside you are so busy you cant get to the local library or chat within the community to find out about what classes are on . The APP is to provide inspiration to women to live life to the full .

An iPhone app that allows library members to check and renew their loans. This will give people greater choice and flexibility in how they interact with Fingal County Libraries. An advantage of an iPhone app over, for example, a SMS text based reminder system, means Fingal Libraries does not have to collect and store email addresses or text numbers in order to push information out to their members.
