Code for Ireland will be launched at an event in Dublin Castle on Thursday 16th January from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.
The aim of Code for Ireland is to bring together people from local communities, developers and people working in government in order to develop apps and services that solve community problems and also to enable government to become more open.
Code for Ireland is based on the Code for America model of which we are an international member – see http://codeforamerica.org/
The launch of Code for Ireland will take place as follows –

Speaking at the launch will be Jonathan Reichental, CIO of the City of Palo Alto, California and Catherine Bracy, Director of Community Organising, Code for America.
